Bodega Bay Rally
October 2014

Bodega Bay 2014 was held Oct 16th-Oct 19th at the Bodega Bay RV Park in Bodega Bay, CA.  There were 8 rigs and 19 members in attendance including first time rally attendees Don & Joan Cotton of Carmichael and John & Jeanne Hawkins of San Marcos, both of California.

Rain was predicted but held off for most of the rally except for overnight hours and light sprinkles Saturday between tours.

Welcome dinner included Happy Hour and a dinner of BBQ Tri-tip with side dishes of baked beans, salads & desserts.

Friday activities included an extensive morning tour of the University of California Marine Laboratory (did everyone see the famous blue lobster?) and an afternoon tour of the U.S. Coast Guard Lifeboat Station with a video presentation of the duties of the station and an onboard tour of a 48’ lifeboat. Saturday night we had the happy hour and a pot luck dinner including pan fried oysters cooked by a guest Rotarian John Brown of Gold River, CA.

Saturday was the day of the Sonoma County Art Trails.  We car pooled and following published maps we were able to visit the artists’ studios throughout the county. Saturday evening was “dinner on your own”, but our entire group arrived at the same restaurant and enjoyed a group dinner.

Sunday was the traditional break-a-way breakfast, with everyone having their fill of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, home fried potatoes, toast and juice.

Everyone had a great time….Looking forward to see everyone again at our spring rally, April 13th rally at the Jackson Rancheria and the annual rally June 2015 in Estes Park, CO.
