Ray passed away July 13, 2011 at the age of 91 in Empire California.

In 1988 Ray and his wife Rosey decided to start a West Coast Rotary Recreational Vehicle Fellowship. The first get-together was held at Flying Flags Travel Park, Buellton California in June.

Ray and Rosey attended many rallies as well as hosting at least four rallies between June 1988 and June 1994. They eventually had to give up their motor home but still attended rallies by staying at nearby motels. Ray served as secretary-treasurer of the RVF for many years. Ray was a Rotarian for 54 years as well as being a District Governor.

Ray and Rosey resided in Atascadero, CA. He was raised on a farm in Sidney, IN. During WWII Ray served in the US Navy on the island of Guam. After graduation Ray was a minister in the United Methodist Church from 1950 – 1981. Per Jerry Haley – “Ray was a great guy to know and one that didn’t let any grass grow beneath his feet.”
