Crystal River Florida Mini - November 5-7, 2010

Jim and Becky Jones hosted a mini rally November 5th through the 7th at their Crystal River Florida Home. Jim is a member of Rotary Club of Kings Bay, Crystal River.

This rally was for hospitality and a little work at Jim’s Rotary Club’s “Annual Stone Crab Jam” in Crystal River. For the Jones this was their third annual rally to bring RVF people to Crystal River to enjoy and help a bit at the “Jam”. The 5 RVF visiting rigs all parked in the Jones’s large drive and near the Jones rig that is stored in their RV garage. All had electric hook ups.

Friday the whole group, including some of the Jones family, friends and the RVF’s went to dinner at a favorite sea food restaurant in the area, Peck’s Old Port Cove. The dinner followed a social hour at the Jones’ home. Saturday started early with Jim and the RVF drivers posting signs though out the “Crab Jam” area in Crystal River. The “Jam” occupies over 8 blocks West of Highway 19 in town. There are 3 entry ways into the activities and all the 3 entry areas had their respective bands greeting attendees. The event features many vendors of everything from Stone Crab claws to Family Fun Tattoos. The RVF group completed putting up signs and banners around 1pm. The “Jam” kicked off at 3pm. The Jones worked an entry location while the visiting RVF’s enjoyed the food and entertainment. General tickets were just $5 per person with a special VIP $50 ticket available that afforded one a VIP parking area, a special dinner at a Community center right in the heart of the “Crab Jam” area.

The rally closed on Sunday with a traditional break-a-way breakfast at the Jones’ home. The fantastic breakfast was comprised of 5 large delicious breakfast casseroles. All are looking forward to the 2011 event.
