Bodega Bay Rally

By: Laura Calderwood

36 rigs with 71 people traveled to Bodega Bay for a great rally, hosted by Bill and Marie Scully. The rally started off on Thursday with the traditional RVF social hour followed by a Bar-B-Q Hamburger dinner. The group then enjoyed a talk by a local Historian about the first settlers in Bodega Bay as well as the current residence.

Friday started off with our usual continental breakfast, some played golf, went shopping, while others feasted on a great fish lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch we toured the Bodega Marine Laboratory which was very interesting.

The evening meal was another traditional Pot Luck dinner provided by the great cooks in the RVF group. After dinner there was a short meeting, conducted by Pacific Zone chair Jack Spencer. Some played cards and others sat around and visited with each other.

Saturday morning started with the continental breakfast and then we boarded buses and traveled to the Charles M. Schultz museum and Ice Rink. Charles M. Schultz was the famous cartoon artist of Snoopy and Peanuts.  After enjoying lunch at the Ice rink, we boarded the buses and headed for the Kendall Jackson Winery

We sipped 4 different wines as we had a guided tour of the gardens. We completed the tour in the Winery gift shop where some bought a few bottles of wine (or was it cases)

Saturday night was a wonderful catered meal followed by a sing-a-long. I think it was one of the best Sing-A-Longs I’ve heard in a long time.

Sunday was a great catered breakfast and some departed for home while others, drove up the coast to the Warrenton, Oregon Rally

A great time was had by all!
